This will be my final column as Mayor of Lake Saint Louis. After 12 years of serving the residents of Lake Saint Louis, first as Ward 2 Alderman for over 5 years, then as Mayor for over 6 years, I have decided not to week another term as Mayor due to increasing workload of my full time job. What will I miss most from these positions? All of the wonderful residents I may have never met - the young school children, Cub, Boy and Girl Scouts to the awesome Veterans who served this country in World War II and their spouses. Too many different people and groups to list, but I was honored and humbled to meet and speak to all of you, even those situations and meetings where we maybe did not always agree. I understand as this is your City, your home, and you love it as much as I do. I have also enjoyed meeting our business owners investing in our community. And I cannot forget the close bounds I made with the many Boards of Aldermen and Mayors I have served with. This last Board who I served my entire tenure as Mayor with has been really special. Even though we didn't agree 100% on every issue (which we shouldn't), it was always professional and respectful. Thank you Aldermen Mike Potter, John Pellerito, Gary Turner, Gary Torlina, Jason Law (soon to be Mayor Law), and one of my best friends, Karen Vennard for working together so hard for Lake Saint Louis, and with me. And last, but definitely not least, thank you to our Amazing City Staff - Administration & IT, Police, Courts, Parks, Public Works & Housekeeping, Community Development, and Finance, the many volunteers - you have helped and supported me with my numerous questions and requests over the years, while dedicating your careers to serving the residents and businesses of Lake Saint Louis. You take most of the credit for making this the best place to live in the St. Louis area. I leave everyone in excellent hands with your new Mayor Jason Law - I know you will give him the support and friendship you gave me!
