The St. Charles County Regional Crisis Negotiation Team works in parallel with the St. Charles County Regional SWAT Team and its mission is to preserve life during critical incidents in a way that minimizes harm. This team initiates verbal dialog with suicidal persons, criminal barricaded suspects and people involved in hostage situations.
CNT members are assigned to other full time assignments within the police department and perform their CNT duties in addition to their regular assignments. The team is a multi-jurisdictional unit which includes members from the County and Municipal agencies within St. Charles County. The Lake Saint Louis Police Department has participated in the St. Charles County Regional Crisis Negotiation Team since its inception in 2005.
