1. How do I obtain my accident report?

Accident reports can be obtained through Buy Crash for your convenience.

2. How do I get a copy of a police report?

The easiest way to attain a police report is to email Kristine Westhoff with the following information:

• Date of Incident
• Name of the Party Involved
• Report Number
• Type of Incident

3. How do I get a police record check?

Email our Records Custodian, Kristine Westhoff, or call 636-625-8018 to obtain a local record check. There is no fee. Please include the following information:

• Address During the Requested Time Frame
• Date of Birth
• Full Name
• Social Security Number

Photo identification is required for a record check on yourself. A signed release form is required for a record check on someone else. For a statewide record check, you will need to contact the Missouri State Highway Patrol at 636-300-2800

4. Does Lake Saint Louis have a D.A.R.E program?

The Lake Saint Louis Police Department offers a Drug and Alcohol Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program in cooperation with Greentree Elementary School. Contact Officer Susan Ochs for more information. Be sure to visit our D.A.R.E. page for information on the program and lots of fun activities.

5. What do I do about the dogs and cats running loose in my neighborhood?

Unless there is an immediate danger, you should contact St. Charles County Animal Control at 636-949-7387. If the animal has bitten someone or is about to attack a human being or another animal, contact the Police Department at 636-625-8018 or call 911.

Allowing a pet to run loose is a violation of City ordinances and may result in a summons being issued and a fine being assessed. Please be a courteous neighbor and a good citizen by appropriately controlling your pet at all times.

6. Can I make arrangements to get my fingerprints taken?

The simplest thing to do is drop by the Department and let person who greets you know that you need to be fingerprinted. An officer will assist you as soon as possible. Unfortunately, sometimes all of our on-duty officers are busy and you may have to either wait for a while or come back at another time.

You are welcome to call 636-625-8018 and check with our Dispatch Center about officer availability, but due to our staffing levels we are unable to set specific appointments for this service.

7. Can I get a permit to park my boat in my driveway?

City residents may request and may be granted one 1-day permit per week for the maintenance, repair, cleaning, or outfitting of recreational vehicles, including boats and boat trailers. When more time is required for these activities, residents may obtain up to four 72-hour non-consecutive permits per calendar year.

Permits may be obtained by contacting the Lake Saint Louis Police Dispatch Center at 636-625-8018.

8. I want to have a garage sale. Do I need to do anything special?

The City of Lake Saint Louis allows only two garage sales to be conducted at the same location within any calendar year. No garage sale may continue for more than three days. Before conducting your sale, you must notify the Police Department Dispatch Office at 636-625-8018 of the time, date and location of your event as well as the name, address and telephone number of the person or persons responsible for conducting the sale. You cannot post signs advertising a garage sale on public property, including:

• On the Street Right-of-Way
• Posts or Utility Poles
• Street Signs
• Traffic Signs

Signs may be posted on parked vehicles so long as the vehicles are legally parked. You may also place signs on your property, so long as they are in place only on the day and during the hours of the sale. Garage sale signs must be no larger than 5 square feet.

9. How do I get involved in the Neighborhood Crime Watch?

You can email Officer Susan Ochs or call 636-625-8018 if you are interested in being part of the Neighborhood Crime Watch.

10. Is there a fee for getting a copy of a report?

Yes. The fee for obtaining a copy of a specific police report is $5. This fee covers our costs for retrieving and reproducing the documents. In cases where multiple reports are requested or an extensive search is required, a fee of $25 per hour will apply to the time required for research, in addition to the fees noted above for reproduction of the report.

11. How do I give the police information about a crime?

If the crime is in progress, you should immediately call our dispatch center on 911. The Lake Saint Louis Police Department has a Police Tip Line citizens can reach by calling 636-625-7995 or by emailing the Tip Line. This service provides the public with an opportunity to provide information about any crime in the City of Lake Saint Louis. Callers may remain anonymous, should they choose to do so.

Persons with information of a crime that is being planned, you should call the Police Tip Line or contact our dispatch center at 636-625-8018 and ask to speak to an officer. If you have information regarding a crime that is under investigation, you should contact our dispatch center at 636-625-8018 to be referred to the officer handling that investigation.
