[ARCHIVED] Only Rain In The Drain

Only Rain in the Drain

The City of Lake St. Louis would like to remind our residents that Meridian Waste offers yard waste pick-up.  The yard waste must be separated from the other trash and can be in a brown paper yard waste bag or in a separate can with handles.  For more information please refer to the Recycling and Waste Management Guide on the City’s website: www.lakesaintlouis.com.

Never dump anything into a storm drain, including oil, paint, soap, debris, leaves, animal waste and other yard waste. Storm sewers don’t go to the sewer treatment plant, they discharge directly into our streams that will eventually flow into our lakes.  Leaves and other yard waste can clog storm sewer pipes and cause flooding.  Animal waste can cause our lakes and streams to be contaminated with fecal matter which can cause health problems for residents and be hazardous to aquatic life.
